ASA Motor Repair Workshop - TEBBIN

In 2012 ASA established a well-equipped electrical workshop for rewinding & overhauling electrical motors in TEBBIN industrial zone located south of Cairo. ASA workshop is a customer-oriented workshop that ensures our clients’ demands for reliable, quality driven and timely performance.

Daily, we aim for sustainable development, we utilize our management system that is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Using latest testing tools, best practices and TQM system, we ensure that all repairs done are provided to the clients’ satisfaction and needs.

Our well trained and experienced staff are qualified to understand and perform all activities involved in the specialized procedures related to motor repair. We typically start by conducting an on-site electric motor services examination for fault finding, then if needed, refurbishment, repairs and specialist services such as motor’s slip rings repair and vibration analysis.

Workshop Services

Motors Services:

• AC LV Squirrel Cage and Slip Ring Induction motors, 500 -380 V from 0.18 kW up to 500 kW (Rewinding & Overhaul).
• Single Phase Motors (Rewinding & Overhaul).
• DC Motor repairs (Overhaul).
• Dynamic balancing according to ISO 1940 with 1.0 grade.
• Check of Motor Shaft error like linearity and so on.
• Fabricate new Motor Shaft.
• Repair motor End-Shields.

Motors Testing:

• Milliohm resistance testing: Measuring motor windings resistance to IEC 60034-1-2010.
• PI Testing: Measuring Motor Insulation Resistance and Polarization Index according to IEEE43-2000.
• Motor Vibration Diagnostics.

On-Site Services:

• Motor thermal imaging.
• Horizontal and vertical alignment.
• Measurements of M.V slip ring motors (On Site):
  • Measure motor slip ring surface roughness.
  • Measure motor slip ring ovality.
  • Measure slip ring tension of brush holder.
• Improve of slip ring to adjust its ovality.

MV Motors Overhaul as follows:

• Motor Disassembly.
• Rotor & Stator Visual Inspection.

Stator:

• Stator condition assessment & measurements.
• Windings cleaning using heated steam with adjustable pressure.
• Stator winding drying into oven.
• Stator winding insulation test.
• Perform pre-refurbishment shop test (Polarization Index).
• Stator re-insulate using varnish class H 180 °C.
• Varnish curing into special ovens at 120 °C for 12 hours, then at 150 °C for 6 hours.
• Stator anti-flash varnish red coating.

Rotor:

• Rotor condition assessment & measurements.
• Perform pre-refurbishment shop test.
• Windings cleaning using heated steam with adjustable pressure.
• Rotor winding drying into oven.
• Rotor winding insulation test.
• Rotor re-insulate using varnish class H 180 °C.
• Varnish curing into special ovens at 120 °C for 12 hours, then at 150 °C for 6 hours.
• Rotor anti-flash varnish red coating.
• Perform post insulation enhancement shop test (Polarization Index).

For SR Motors:

• Maintain slip ring compartment.
• Measure slip rings ovality, surface roughness, and spring tension of the brushes holders.

Motor Assembly:

• Repair Shaft Wears if needed.
• Rotor dynamic balance.
• Fitting new set of bearing.
• Repair bearing housings if needed.
• Motor assembling.
• Painting.

On -Site - After Motor Overhauled:

Online motor analysis after motor overhauled with Baker (SKF Online Motor Analyzer):

• Identify possible power circuit problems that degrade motor health.
• Examine overall motor power conditions.
• Monitor the load.
• Check bearings condition.
• Supply information on the following:
  • Voltage level, voltage balance.
  • Harmonic and total distortion.
  • Rotor cage condition.
  • Effective service factor.
